Lost Echo has the seeds of greatness, but it needs a complete overhaul. The game is visually impressive, combining comic-book-style visual storytelling with cinematic flairs, and the plot becomes far more interesting as the game progresses. But the characters and environments are completely uninspired, the story is utterly confused, and the writing is . . . well, its just terrible. As for the gameplay, its mostly manageable, but movement is infuriatingly tedious and the puzzles are either too simple or too linear (that is, you cant work through a puzzle or tackle it in pieces - you have to tap on everything in just right order) and its often unclear how you can interact with an object.
That said, the developers have promised another instalment on the horizon (Lost Echo: Resonance) that seeks to address some of these weaknesses. Wait for it and hope for the best, because at this price, this rough-draft game just isnt worth it.
